The GMC Sierra 1500 is one of the most powerful and sophisticated trucks on the road, delivering impeccable power, performance, and gorgeous style. Inside this remarkable full-size truck, you can find a wide range of features and options, depending on which model you look at. This variety is fantastic, but it can also make choosing the right one a bit tricky as you’re looking for a GMC Sierra for sale and deciding which trim has everything you want. Don’t worry, however, because here at Fox Valley Buick GMC, we’re always ready to help answer all of your questions and assist in exploring the GMC lineup. Today, we thought it would be fun to take a closer look at the eight trim levels available for the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 and see if we can figure out which ones would best suit you.
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Pro
Kicking things off, we have the starting trim for the Sierra 1500: the Pro. The Pro serves as an excellent foundation for the Sierra 1500’s other models, built for those who want a solid baseline. Two engines are available for the Pro: the standard 310-hp TurboMax and an available 355-hp 5.3L V8 engine, both available for two-wheel drive (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) configurations. The Pro model highlights some standard features you’ll see across the Sierra 1500 lineup moving forward, such as 17-inch wheels, chrome front and rear bumpers, LED signature lighting, and GMC’s impressive MultiPro Tailgate as an available option.
Inside, this one comes with a seven-inch diagonal color infotainment system, standard support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker sound system. You’ll find standard vinyl seat trims in the Pro, including four-way adjustable front seats, plus a 3.5-inch monochromatic Driver Information Center display in the six-gauge instrument cluster. Power windows and door locks are standard, with Remote Keyless Entry, single-zone climate control, and more. The GMC Pro Safety suite is standard across the entire Sierra 1500 lineup, which includes a Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and more automated features to help keep you safe on the road.
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE
Although the Pro model is a fine place to start, we’d consider the SLE a better standard trim if you’re looking for a truck you can enjoy driving daily. The SLE comes with numerous upgrades over the Pro, such as an available 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine option to go along with the two powertrain options found on the Pro. On the outside, the SLE has several visual enhancements, including heated power outside mirrors. It comes with the GMC MultiPro Tailgate, now a standard feature, with six functions to improve daily use, such as GM’s EZ Lift, which provides automated assistance for opening, closing, and locking your tailgate.
One of the most significant differences with the SLE is the vastly improved interior, featuring a stunning 13.4-inch GMC Premium Infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus Google built-in. This is joined by an upgraded 12.3-inch color Driver Information Center display, standard cloth seating with a 10-way power driver’s seat, Keyless Open and Start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and much more to enhance your drive each day.

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation
Moving up to the Elevation, many additional upgrades and options become available, making this a fine choice if you want some exterior and interior enhancements. For example, standard with the Elevation is a set of LED fog lamps, body-colored front and rear bumpers, available assist steps including high clearance steps for off-roading, along with an available Sierra Safety Plus package that includes Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Front and Rear Park Assist, an HD Surround Vision system, and more. The Elevation also has a standard High-Capacity Suspension package for added comfort on rough roads and interior upgrades like standard heated driver and front passenger seats.
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT
If you’re interested in one of the most powerful engines out there, then the SLT is a great trim to consider. Exclusive to the 4WD configuration, the SLT features a 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine, which clocks in at a staggering 420 hp, the strongest you can get on the Sierra 1500. In addition, this beauty comes with 18-inch wheels for a bolder stance, plus cargo bed LED lighting that’s perfect for loading and unloading at night. More enhancements are available for the SLT, including a Max Trailering package and Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert to make towing easier and safer, along with skid plates that are available if you want to leave the road behind with your truck.
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4
If you’re passionate about off-roading, then the AT4 should be the first trim you consider when looking at a Sierra 1500. This impressive off-road beast is only available in a 4WD configuration, with either the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine or the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8. It comes with 18-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, plus it features an automatic locking rear differential and a two-speed Autotrac transfer case for exceptional control and traction on rough trails. Best of all, the AT4 has a two-inch factory-installed lift with Monotube Rancho shocks to improve ground clearance, angles, and overall performance off-road.
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali
GMC is well known for making some of the most luxurious and sophisticated trucks. If that’s something you want, then take a look at the Denali trim. You get incredible 20-inch wheels on the Denali, plus a Premium Suspension with Adaptive Ride Control for remarkable comfort no matter how bumpy the road gets. The Denali comes with a seven-speaker Bose Premium sound system, forge perforated leather seating with 12-way power front seats, which are heated and ventilated, plus a wireless charging pad, adaptive cruise control, and much more. For frequent use, the Denali elevates the GMC Sierra 1500 to another level, making it an amazing choice you’ll look forward to driving each day.
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X
If you’re looking for the ultimate off-road pickup, you need to check out the AT4X trim, which takes the impressive capability of the AT4 to another level. It features enhanced standard luxury features over the AT4, including ventilated front seats, a power sunroof, and even a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system. Even more impressive, however, is the off-road suspension with a two-inch factory life and Multimatic DSSV dampers that keep you comfortable and in control on the harshest terrain out there. You can even choose an AEV Edition for the AT4X, which adds a stamped steel front skid plate, hot-stamped Boron steel fuel tank, rear differential skid plates, and more to create the ultimate off-road machine.

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate
Speaking of “ultimate,” GMC has recently taken the Denali refinement to a new level with the Denali Ultimate trim, the pinnacle trim of the Sierra 1500. Living up to its name, this is the peak of luxury and bold design with 22-inch ultra-bright wheels that look incredible, a standard power sunroof, standard GMC MultiPro power steps for getting in and out, and more exterior design upgrades. On the inside, you’ll find a standard 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system with CenterPoint in this model, along with 16-way power front seats with massage functionality, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 15-inch multi-color head-up display, and much more. This is the purest expression of GMC sophistication, surpassing everything else on the road.
Find the GMC Sierra 1500 With Everything You Need
As you can see, while having eight different trims to choose from can feel a bit overwhelming at first, the way they’ve been appointed makes things pretty simple. The Pro model is the starting point and an ideal choice for building a fleet, while the SLE is a better standard for a daily driver that you’ll enjoy for work and play. GMC builds on these features with the Elevation and SLT models, giving you more features and options to customize your ride. If you’re interested in doing some off-roading, the AT4 and AT4X models should be at the top of your list, while the Denali and Denali Ultimate are the pinnacle experiences for luxury and comfort. Now, all you have to do is decide on what you’re looking for in your next truck, and then we can ensure you get everything you need in the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 you’ve been looking for.
