There are a lot of stellar EVs out there right now. While Tesla may get a lot of the EV hype, there is a new EV that’s delivering some of the best performance in the EV market but simply is not getting enough attention, even though it’s one of the most iconic nameplates in automotive history. The Hummer EV is one of the coolest and most exciting vehicles the industry has ever seen. Combining the Hummer, one of the most sought-after and beloved vehicles of all time, with a brilliant electric powertrain could only result in amazing things, and that ingenuity is now available to drivers everywhere. For those of you seeking a Hummer EV for sale, we’ve put together a brief buyer’s guide so you can understand the vehicle’s specific offerings, your options, and the best way to navigate your purchase. While the Hummer EV keeps things relatively simple in terms of trim options, there are a number of things to be aware of if you’re going to consider getting your own. But there’s no bad option, and there’s a lot to love about this astonishing vehicle, so before you go and get your own model, let’s get educated on the 2025 Hummer EV SUV and see what it’s offering.

When Rugged Capability Meets Electrified Power

As the automotive industry becomes more and more electrified, there are many long-running direct-injection nameplates now offering all-electric models as well. While it’s always exciting to see a vehicle go electric, the development of the Hummer EV SUV is arguably one of the most exciting. There are two reasons behind this.

First, the Hummer was, for a long time, known as one of the most iconic and popular SUVs on the road. With its recognizable boxy frame and adventure-ready appearance, Hummers were easily identifiable to everyone and sought out by many. Before we even discuss the Hummer’s powerful capability or the fact that it’s now electric, the fact that the Hummer is making a comeback at all is a significant moment in automotive history. For those who have been longing for the good old days when Hummers were mainstream vehicles, your longing has come to an end!

Second, the Hummer was always known for its capability above all else, just as electric powertrains have become known for their incredible capability; combining the Hummer and the electric powertrain could only lead to incredible things, and we’ll get into the details of that momentarily. Even before it went electric, the Hummer was an SUV that crushed the competition, and while going electric is a significant step for the Hummer SUV, electric mechanization going Hummer is a significant step for EVs in general. So, those seeking the best SUV and electric vehicle possible don’t need to compromise; the Hummer EV. SUV offers it in one clean, stylish package.

Two Trims to Choose From

The Hummer EV keeps things relatively simple in terms of its trim lineup; with brilliance on this level, you don’t need to offer an extensive lineup of trims. You’ll have two trim options to choose from: the 2x and the 3x. The names are actually more self-explanatory than they may seem, with the 2x offering two motors and the 3x offering three motors. It’s as simple as that. But, because of that, it’s important to understand that the difference between the two trims is not one of cosmetics but one of performance, so you’ll want to be in the know on the advantages of these two trims before making a decision.

As you can imagine, having three motors instead of two motors comes with a significant performance advantage. Some may see the 3x as the “more expensive” option, but it’s important to note that the expense brings with it a radical increase in certain types of performance capability. If you’re looking to use the Hummer EV to the absolute maximum capability, it’s important to choose the right trim as they each offer their own sets of performance advantages.

The two trim levels are not a question of weak vs strong or bad vs good, but only strong vs stronger and great vs greater. So, to get a better idea of what that looks like in practice, let’s investigate the specifics of the vehicles’ specs more closely.

The Specs

For some vehicle types, specs don’t tell the whole story; a sedan or compact SUV driver may not be as concerned with a torque rating if all they’re looking for is a commuter vehicle. But, with a vehicle designed for thrills and performance like the Hummer EV SUV, these specs matter. And, when it comes to determining which vehicle delivers the best performance, specs don’t lie.

Like we said before, the Hummer EV gives you a choice of two trims. The 2x trim gives you an impressive 570 hp and an incredible 7,400 lb-ft of torque. Those are outstanding specs. Take those specs on their own, and you’d probably drive away happy, feeling like you’ve hit the motherload. 7,400 lb-ft of torque is basically unheard of in any other vehicle. If there’s one thing EV powertrains are known for, it’s instant torque, and the Hummer EV SUV proves this. But, the Hummer EV goes further.

If you work your way up to the 3x trim in the SUV, you’ll have access to an unprecedented, best-in-class 830 hp and a mind-blowing 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Process that information for a moment. Consider that the vehicle in question is an SUV. 830 hp has not yet been reached in any mainstream truck, let alone an SUV. And forget 11,500 lb-ft of torque; there’s almost no point in even discussing that number since it stands far above any other vehicle’s offering.

Now, at this point, you’re probably thinking that the 3x is undeniably the more capable trim. When it comes to horsepower and torque specifically, that is true. However, if you’re less concerned with acceleration and top speed and instead are more focused on towing capacity, you’ll actually prefer the 2x trim. Generally speaking, as diverse and capable as electric powertrains can be, direct-injection engines tend to offer greater towing capacity, and for the Hummer EV SUV, having two motors rather than three provides a towing advantage. While the 2x offers an outstanding 12,000-pound capacity, the 3x trim offers 8,500 pounds. If you’re more concerned with quick acceleration and pulling heavy loads from a standstill or up inclines, then there’s no question that the 3x is “stronger,” but if maximum towing capability is important to you, then you’ll want to seriously consider prioritizing the 2x trim.

The Hummer EV SUV is undoubtedly one of the strongest, if not the strongest, vehicles currently on the market. We’re not going to sit here and pretend that the Hummer EV is a cheap vehicle; obviously, it comes at a significant price point. But, with that significant price point comes the most outstanding ratings in the industry. You’re not paying for superfluous accessories; you’re paying for the capability and versatility you need. It’s an investment, no doubt. But, it’s an investment that gives you far more than you’ll get in any other product.

Reaching New Territories

The Hummer EV SUV brings together two of the hottest things in the industry: the capability of the Hummer nameplate and impressive electric powertrains. That in itself is exciting. It’s only fitting, then, that such an exciting vehicle drives the industry into new territories, providing best-in-class horsepower and torque and giving drivers access to unprecedented strength and capability. For those looking to experience something completely new, the Hummer EV SUV is about as good as it gets this model year. For several years now, the automotive industry has been in a stage where it seems that vehicles have gotten so good that it’s getting harder and harder for brands to top themselves. But, in the midst of that, the Hummer EV SUV has come along and topped just about every other vehicle in its class.
