If you’re looking for a truck that blends workhorse capability and strength with a flair of style and sophistication, you can’t go wrong with the Sierra 1500. We’re proud to offer the GMC Sierra 1500 for sale here at Fox Valley GMC because it gives our customers a fantastic lineup of trims, ranging from affordable to rugged to luxurious. Because the Sierra offers so much variety, it’s a fool’s errand to try to mention every single benefit it brings to the table in any one post. Instead, we’re going to look over a variety of highlights that showcase some of the most impressive aspects of the 2025 model. Whether you’re a hard worker, an outdoor explorer, or just someone looking for a comfortable daily driver, you’re sure to find something that suits your needs.

Powertrain Lineup

Four different engines are available for the 2025 Sierra 1500, so you can choose the one that best fits your budget and provides the power you need to tackle tough jobs. The standard 2.7L TurboMax is the most affordable option, and also provides the best payload figure (up to 2,240 lbs on a properly configured truck). Able to produce 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, this powertrain gives the truck the ability to tow up to 9,400 lbs —nothing to sneeze at and certainly not bad for the base option.

Upgrade to the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 and you’ll get 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque to work with, allowing you to tow up to 11,200 lbs on a properly configured truck. Need even more? The 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 boosts those stats to 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque for a towing capacity of 13,000 lbs. That’s going to be the best engine in the lineup for thrilling performance, which is worth keeping in mind if you’re an off-road enthusiast. But there is one option left that takes home the crown for king of towing and wins the green award for best fuel economy: the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel I-6. While its 305 hp is the lowest in the lineup, it has the most torque at 495 lb-ft, allowing it to tow up to 13,200 lbs while also giving you up to 26 MPG combined, so you can avoid pain at the pump.

Towing Prowess

Having a solid towing capacity is important, but it’s not the only factor in making a truck good for trailering. Other features can come in handy to help make your tough jobs safer and more convenient. For the 2025 model year, the Sierra 1500 now makes a trailer brake controller standard on the SLE trim and above, so most of the lineup gives you extra stopping power that’s especially crucial when you’re carrying heavy loads. There’s also an intelligent trailering system with an in-vehicle app that lets you create custom profiles for multiple trailers, test lights, monitor trailer tire pressure, access maintenance reminders, and check pre-departure checklists to make sure everything is good to go before you hit the road.

The Sierra 1500 is available with up to 14 camera views, many of which come in handy for trailering. Bed View with Zoom & Hitch Guidance makes it easy to hook your trailer up, even if you don’t have a spotter on hand. Hitch View lets you check your connection from the cab if you hear or feel anything strange, but want to take a quick look before pulling over on a busy highway. Surround View comes in handy when parking with a trailer attached, since you can get a better idea of the obstacles all around you. There are also angles that let you check your blind spot with Trailer Biasing or even see behind you with Transparent Trailer View.

Versatile MultiPro Tailgate

A pickup truck’s cargo bed is, as the name suggests, first and foremost a place to store cargo. But any truck owner can tell you that a bed can be so much more than that. You can use it as a mobile workbench, a campsite home base, a hangout spot for tailgate parties, and more. The MultiPro Tailgate available on the Sierra 1500 is a versatile tool that serves you well, no matter how you’re using your cargo bed.

The innovative design features an inner gate that can open and close independently of the main tailgate. With different configurations, this can act as a load stop for long items, a cutaway to help you reach further into the bed without climbing up, a full-width step or foot rest, and a work surface that has a much more convenient height than the bed’s floor. To make it a party, you can even add an audio system with a speaker built right in.

Advanced Tech Features

The Sierra 1500 is the complete package, with both brawn and brains onboard. Large digital displays make it easy to see vital information at a glance, so you can keep your eyes on the road while also staying informed, connected, and entertained. In fact, the Sierra 1500 offers over 40 inches of combined display space, including a digital gauge display that can be customized to suit your individual needs.

This truck also has a full suite of safety and driver assist features, from Automatic Emergency Braking to Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning to IntelliBeam. At the top of the list sits GM’s Super Cruise, a hands-free highway driving feature that can help you avoid fatigue on long trips. While other automakers offer similar features, there’s a reason that Super Cruise has been named Best Hands-Free Driving Tech by MotorTrend. It has unique features like Automatic Lane Changing, which keeps you moving with the flow of traffic, and the ability to use it with a trailer in tow, something that’s certainly a big plus for truck owners.

Off-Road Chops

When you drive a Sierra AT4 or AT4X, you don’t need roads. These rugged trims are designed to be pavement-optional so you can explore the great outdoors. Both feature a 2-inch factory lift for additional ground clearance, underbody skid plates for protection, and heated and ventilated front seats so you can enjoy your adventures no matter the weather. Going above and beyond, the AT4X also sports front and rear electronic locking differentials so you can have the traction you need in sticky situations, Multimatic DSSV dampers that keep your ride smooth on rocky ground, and an AEV stamped steel front bumper with winch capability.

The Sierra 1500 Denali and Denali Ultimate are dripping with comfort and convenience features that will elevate your every road trip and errand run. The Denali comes standard with 12-way power-adjustable front seats with adjustable lumbar support, an upscale cabin decorated with premium materials like open-pore wood and perforated leather, a 7-speaker premium Bose audio system, and more. The Denali Ultimate takes things even further with 16-way heated and ventilated front seats that have massage functionality for ultimate comfort, a 12-speaker Bose surround sound system sure to please even the pickiest audiophile, and exclusive styling touches like bright chrome exterior accents that shine bright.
